Revised Summer 2020 HITT 1305 Medical Terminology Final Project
Medical Terminology HITT 1305
Final Project
Write an original report on a medical disease, something that is of interest to you. Post your
topic to the discussion forum within eCampus. In addition to the typed Word paper, you will
record yourself (live video) via YuJa presenting your PowerPoint slides. Your typed Word
paper (no PDFs) will be submitted in eCampus which utilizes TurnItIn.com to check for
plagiarism. Only 1 submission will be graded. Your YuJa presentation link will be pasted into
a dropbox via eCampus. This can’t be the same paper that you submitted for
another/previous class and will not be graded. Both parts of the project are due by the
stated due date/time within eCampus.
Examples: any type of cancer, heart disease, AIDS, ALS, etc.
This is a research paper and not a copy from the Internet. Written report is worth 65 points

and uploaded via the eCampus dropbox. It will automatically be sent to TurnItIn.com which
analyzes the paper for plagiarism. Make sure you are submitting your original paper and
correctly cite your sources. If your paper shows 60% or more of “Turnitin Similarity” it will
not be graded and you will receive a zero on the paper. YuJa Recording link (Voice, Live Video,
& PowerPoint slides) will be pasted into a dropbox via eCampus.
TIP: If you are quoting text verbatim, put quotation marks around the text and give reference to
the author and the page number in parentheses. Example: “This information came directly from the textbook” (Author pg #).
TIP: Every time you change your source within your paper, put the author in parentheses.
Example: Source one is stating this information (Author). Source two is stating this
information (Author2).
TIP: Make sure you put your sources within your written paper.
By giving reference to your sources you are avoiding plagiarism! Plagiarized papers will not be
graded and will receive a zero for the grade.
Papers that were submitted for a previous course/assignment are considered plagiarized (even if
you wrote them) and will receive a zero for the grade.

YuJa:
What is needed: webcam (microphone), computer, PowerPoint
YuJa is a software that allows a presenter to record their voice, video, and desktop of the computer.
Step-by-step instructions for YuJa can be found in eCampus within the project folder.
Tips: Create your PowerPoint slides before you begin YuJa. Make sure your webcam is on and
select the video button on the YuJa screen. When you are ready to record, you can maximize the
slides. The PowerPoint slides will now be on your desktop. Once you are done recording, you will paste
the YuJa link into the project dropbox via eCampus. If you do not like your recording, you can record it
again. I highly suggest doing a practice recording just to make sure YuJa is working properly on your
computer
