Plagiarism is an academic vice that needs to be addressed accordingly and in a timely manner. Essentially, it refers to employment of another person’s views or ideas and failing to effectively and clearly acknowledge the respective views or ideas. Literary, it refers o academic theft as individuals who plagiarize ‘steal’ ideas, views and opinions. To begin with, plagiarism in this course will be avoided by giving credit whenever an idea, theory or opinion of another person is employed in writing. Any statistics, facts, figures, drawings or pieces of information that do not constitute common knowledge would also be acknowledged. Further, quotations or actual written or spoken words of an individual would be acknowledged accordingly. Finally, any person spoken or written words that are paraphrased would also be credited whenever they are used.
In the current world, the audiences are an important aspect that writers need to put in consideration accordingly. The audience affects the content of the writing, style of writing and the scope of writing in different ways. To begin with, by having different capabilities with regards to technical language, the audience determines the style of writing that a writer uses. In particular, the language as well as skills of the audience greatly determines the style as well as content of writing. Audiences have varied expectations that writers need to fulfill. Likewise, these influence the style, content and scope of writing. The different contexts within which the messages or writings are received also greatly determine the style that the writer uses. Consideration of all the preceding factors aid in enhancing coherence and effectiveness of the messages being passed across.
Usually, communication to teachers needs to be formal because the relationship that they share with students is also formal. Moreover, the message being passed across is formal and requires use of distinctive or specific vocabulary. To convince the audience to respond to this, I would also include in the messages the importance of the policy and how it affects their overall wellbeing. Social security recipients are used to technical language. In this regard, I would use the technical language in order to foster understanding. Moreover, the issue under review is very sensitive. This requires use of facts and statistics to convince the audience and make them understand the reasons behind the rise in premiums. Also worth mentioning is the importance of comprehension in this regard. In order to convince the audience, it would be imperative to provide sufficient information about the issue under review.
Finally, relationship between a boss and an employee is always formal. Moreover, the subject under review is also quite sensitive and requires extra effort to convince the boss regarding the need to pursue further education. The means of communication in this regard would constitute a formal letter. To effectively convince the boss to accept to individual demands, use of persuasive writing skills would be essential. Employment of pathos such as underscoring the importance of the skills that would be gained to the company would yield beneficial results. Furthermore, it would be important to use a polite language and ensure that all the supporting reasons are included in the writing. Use of a polite and formal language in this regard is based on the recognition that the boss is a senior individual who requires respect.
