Hello, thank you for your discussion, and I enjoyed reading it on how the current global foods aggregate pollution on the planet. I just loved how you explained going to buy food, but you were very disappointed since most of the food was ultimately out of stock or unavailable. Globally there has been an adverse change in the climate, which has affected the rain patterns; the use of artificial fertilizers may be another cause for the shortage of food in the grocery. This has made most countries that were previously global exporters of food to be significant importers. I think each individual should feel proud to consume homegrown food, but this has not come to pass. The government should play a significant role in ensuring that there is food security in the country. This can only be achieved by setting up a special day to plant trees, and as we all know that trees attract rainfall, there should be good farming practices to ensure adequate food security.
The covid-19 pandemic has also played a significant role since the poor are sometimes left with no food as they are advised to buy non-food items such as hand sanitizers. In my opinion, the government should play its role in ensuring that its people are not sleeping hungry as a result of buying hand sanitizers but instead, they should provide it themselves. In a nutshell, there have been both positive and negative impacts on the current global food system. As a result of the pandemic, food prices have increased, making the less fortunate in society sleep hungry or eat two meals a day. Your discussion has been very educative.
